My Goal...
My goal as a Middle School Counselor is to help students understand themselves throughout this exciting, yet confusing time in their life. Middle school is a challenging time, both personally and developmentally, for students, their parents, and teachers. Middle school students are at a time when they are passing from childhood to adolescence and are learning to explore different ideas and interests, trying to find their own identity, relying on peers more than parents for validation, and are becoming sensitive to what others may be thinking about them. They rely heavily on friends for comfort, understanding and approval. I will work as a team member with administration, school staff, parents, and community members to create a caring and supportive climate and atmosphere where our adolescents can achieve academic success.
